Do Super Heroes come out just for Halloween? Not this year!
Smart Lunches and Feel the Warmth brought out their inner Super Heroes up this past Saturday to kick off this year’s 5K/1 mile walk and Children’s Hero Run. Ready to tackle the run and have some fun, the Hero Alliance and members of the SL team set out to raise awareness and funds to bring winter coats, school supplies, and children’s books and toys for local families around the greater Philadelphia, PA area.
Still looking for some inspiration to donate or in need of costume ideas? Check out some super stars of this year’s Hero Alliance that helped pave the way to helping others in need.
Feel the Warmth
Feel The Warmth is a 501(c)3 non-profit that provides school supplies, uniforms, winter coats, children’s books and toys to the less fortunate in the Greater Philadelphia region.
Donations are collected from both businesses and individuals. These donated items are carefully disbursed to families in your community that are in need of assistance. These families are found through schools and organizations in the area that deal with housing assistance, food stamps, utility aid, etc. Also, a large percentage of those in need are found by you, the neighbor and friend of someone facing financial difficulties.
